Mathieu Cmela
Mathieu Cmela is a consultant and trainer in nonverbal communication, body language, and behavioral analysis.
With a background in Fine Arts from Toulouse, France, Mathieu developed a keen eye for observation and a deep interest in human expression. During this period, he worked in sales, which gave him firsthand exposure to social interaction and a fresh perspective on human behavior, helping him focus on people and understand their needs.
His early experience in law enforcement in Paris, France provided practical insight into behavior and communication. Now in Switzerland, this expertise he has continued to refine over the past fifteen years within Geneva’s diplomatic circles, an environment where what goes unsaid often carries the most weight.
Fascinated by human interaction, Mathieu chose to specialize in body language and behavioral analysis. He trained under two former FBI officers from counterintelligence and a unit specializing in behavioral analysis: Robin Dreeke and, especially, Joe Navarro, his trainer and mentor for many years. Joe Navarro has played a particularly influential role in shaping his approach.
Mathieu now works as a consultant and trainer, offering sessions in Switzerland and internationally. He helps professionals across sectors—including business leaders, educators, salespeople, and public-sector staff—sharpen their understanding of nonverbal communication, detect subtle signals, and improve the quality of their interactions.
His presentations are known for being down-to-earth, interactive, and rich with real-world examples. Whether working with individuals or groups, he tailors his message to each audience, making complex behavioral insights both accessible and actionable.
Testimonials
Joe NAVARRO
Ex-FBI agent, international writer and public speaker
"The true measure of a professional is skill and ethics and Mathieu CMELA exemplifies both when it comes to the study and presentation of nonverbal communication. A graduate of the body language course and having participated in my seminars, he has proven him repeatedly in his knowledge and application of nonverbal communication as an instructor"

Danilo ROSSI LAJOLO di COSSANO
Italian author, martial art master
"Mathieu has been a loyal student and a proficient instructor for many years, and when I started the new instructor program for my personal protection method, which is nationally recognized by the Italian government, I drew on his knowledge of nonverbal communication to give my students something extra. Once again, his expertise and teaching experience won over the audience."
